TPone – a thermoplastic prepreg
TPone is a fibre-reinforced thermoplastic cover, a so called thermoplastic prepreg, which is fabricated in a continous, automated manufacturing process.
Advantages of TPone:
- high mechanical strangth at low weight
- suitable for large-batch production
- short process cycles when forming into structural components
- good weldability
- recycleble
Due to it's diverse combination possibilities of matrix and reinforced fibres it can fulfil a broad range of applications.
Considering the required characteristicsof a product, for example high temperature resistance, fire resistance etc., following material combinations are possible and can be chosen to meet the customer's specifications:
- Reinforcement fibres: glass fabric, aramid fabric, carbon fabric
- Matrix system: PA6, PA12, PPS, PEEK
- Optional parameter: laminate thickness, fibre alignment, fibre volume content
